Transgender, Non-Binary, & Intersex Pelvic Health at Connect NW Physical Therapy

Welcome.

At Connect NW Physical Therapy & Wellness, we are proud to provide inclusive, affirming, and respectful care for people of all gender identities. Whether you're transgender, non-binary, intersex, or exploring your gender identity, our clinic is a safe place for you to share your story, ask questions, and get the care you need and deserve.

We recognize that transgender, non-binary, and intersex individuals often face significant barriers to accessing quality health care. Our team is committed to reducing those barriers by offering compassionate, informed support in both pelvic health and orthopedic care.

In addition to treating common concerns like pelvic pain, bladder and bowel dysfunction, or recovery after surgery, we also provide care tailored to the unique experiences of individuals who bind, tuck, or undergo gender-affirming procedures.

Gender-Affirming Physical Therapy Care

Pre-Surgical Support

If you're preparing for gender-affirming bottom surgery, we can help you feel ready and supported with:

  • We can help you optimize your pelvic floor function to promote better surgical outcomes and smoother recovery.

  • Learn about tissue healing time and things you can do to promote healing and reduce pain or any issues post surgery.

  • Understanding your pelvic health before surgery provides valuable insight and helps guide a smoother, more personalized recovery process afterward.

  • We’ll work with you to set meaningful, personalized goals that honor your body, identity, and unique healing journey.

Post-Surgical Care

After surgery, we offer trauma-informed, individualized care that can include:

  • For procedures like vaginoplasty, dilators can be an important part of recovery. If appropriate for your care, we’ll guide you through each step with clarity, comfort, and support.

  • Our therapists are trained in a variety of gentle, effective manual therapy techniques to address scar tissue and soft tissue restrictions related to your surgical recovery—helping to restore mobility, reduce discomfort, and support healing.

  • Surgical procedures can sometimes lead to increased sensitivity. We’ll help reduce discomfort, improve tissue tolerance, and build resilience—so you can move with greater ease and fully engage in the activities you love.

  • Whether your goals include exercise, work, daily routines, or sexual activity, we’re here to support your safe, confident return to the things that matter most to you.

Orthopedic Physical Therapy for Gender-Diverse Individuals

You don’t have to have pelvic health concerns to work with us. We also provide orthopedic care for a wide range of musculoskeletal needs, including:

Joint and muscle pain (neck, shoulders, back, hips, knees, etc.)

Injuries from daily life, work, or exercise

Post-surgical rehab (including non-gender-related surgeries)

Support for safe return to movement after periods of inactivity or medical transition

Exercise and strength programs tailored to your body, goals, and comfort level

We take a whole-person approach, honoring your identity and preferences while helping you move with confidence and ease. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, building strength, or exploring movement in a new way, we’re here to support you.

Your Body, Your Goals, Your Care

Every person’s journey is unique, and we are here to meet you wherever you are. Whether you're seeking preventative care, post-operative support, or simply a space where your body and identity are respected, we’re here for you. Let’s work together to support your comfort, function, and connection to your body—on your terms.
